Project Details: Mobile Financing Website Redesign

Situation

The original website was built on Ruby on Rails. It came with an acquisition. Without a CMS we didn’t have anyone with the expertise to update the website. Because of this, I was very limited with my digital marketing strategy, both paid and owned.

Action

I kicked off the project to redesign the website and chose WordPress with Elementor because it’s known to boost website speed and improve performance. I acted as the project manager at first. I created a Gannt Chart, moved the timeline into Monday.com, and created tasks and due dates for the team. Early on in the project, I also had to take over the role of front-end developer and build the site. My past experience with HTML and CSS were very helpful. I also worked very closely with the designer to refine the UI/UX.

Results

The new website was fast, responsive, and we were now able to add and edit content. This allowed me to craft an SEO strategy and a performance marketing strategy with Google Ads, paid social, and programmatic advertising. Page sessions and time on site improved dramatically. I also added improvements such as a mega menu and breaking up the site for B2B and B2C audiences.
